Gone are the days when a margarita was simply tequila,
triple sec and lime. Although this is
still a very popular recipe, new variations have been created that offer a
distinct array of flavors. From strawberry
to mango, frozen to on-the-rocks, this drink is a resort beverage favorite.
These days Margaritas are found in many menus and quite
often featured as the house signature drink. Margaritas are very refreshing and popular all
year around, but especially on a hot summer day by the pool or at the beach. Whether
you prefer them frozen or stirred, conjuring up the perfect blend can be as
simple as choosing the fruit that tickles your senses. Fresh seasonal fruit often dictates what
bartenders will feature as the specialty drink of the week. Mixing at home can allow you to experiment
with fresh or frozen fruits and juices.
Try blending unusual fruits for a unique flavor
combination. Cranberries and oranges,
vanilla and peach, pomegranate and lime; these are some simple partners that can
produce outstanding results. Use a wedge
of fruit on the rim of the glass or drop sections in the drink to make them
more interesting and appealing. You can
also coat the rim with sugar or salt, depending on the variations that you have
chosen. Think about the type of glass
that you use to serve this drink. Merely
selecting a non-traditional glass can awaken intrigue and offer a topic of
conversation.
Fun, flavorful, flirty and fruity . . . enjoy the summer with
a concoction of margaritas that are mixed with your favorite fruit and served
with flair!

Hello from New Zealand :-)
Looks so yummy - beautifully presented! What is sweet and sour mix? I'm unfamiliar with that ingredient and am wondering whether we can get it here - or if you can suggest an equivalent?
Thanks!
Lien.
This looks so sweet and refreshing. I can imagine that peaches go famously with tequila (yum!).

Pre-mixed sweet and sour is sold in almost any liquor Store in the USA, but It can easily be made from scratch. To make sweet and sour mix just combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup of hot water until sugar is completely dissolved. Cool and add 1 cup fresh lime juice and 1 cup fresh lemon juice and refrigerate.
Looks delicious!

This sounds great. A good change compared to my simple vodka and cranberry.
